Volunteer

Volunteers are needed daily to assist in meeting the needs of the hundreds of men, women and families who seek our support. 


Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Food Panty: Sort, stack and package food items in preparation for the weekly food pantry. 
  • On-Site Meals: Plan, prepare and/or serve a meals.  Volunteers are need for evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Clothing Room: Volunteers are needed to organize and run the clothing room.  Hours are flexible.
  • Supply Room: Organize and sort supplies on selves and into packets for the residents.
  • Special Projects:  Volunteers have helped decorate a room, plant flowers, create birthday baskets, build storage units, decorate for Christmas, and paint a room. If you have a special talent, idea or interest, please give us a call. 
  • Special Events/Activities:  Volunteer to help decorate, serve or clean up at Churches United's annual Celebrity Serve Fundraisier.  Some activities are planned by CUFH, others may be a special idea that an individual or group introduced.  Other events or activities include: holiday parties, private fundraisers, summer picnic, music concerts, church services, reading/tutoring children at the shelter, computer lessons for residents, or an excercise class at the shelter.  If you have a special talent, idea or interest, please give us a call.
