We must turn to our friends to be a shelter from the pain. Each year, hundreds of men, women & children in our community turn to Churches United for the Homeless to seek shelter in their time of need. For over 16 year, Churches United has relied on our many friends and neighbors to be this shelter. It is only with your help, that Churches United can fund the daily programs and services that shelter our friends from the pain!
Please help Churches United continue to be a shelter from the pain by donating your time, talents and resources! It is easier than you think to make a difference. When we all work together, even the little things we do can have a significant impact in helping homeless people. Here are five immediate steps you can take today to start making a difference;
1. DONATE
Your donation will help us provide food, shelter, clothing and basic necessities to our communities homeless men, women and children. Your support will help us to provide emergency assistance, direct services, and transitional housing to over hundreds of our most disadvantaged neighbors each year.
2. VOLUNTEER
The Coalition offers rewarding volunteer opportunities for interested and qualified individuals. Many of our programs depend upon the generosity of volunteers to provide our staff with the support they need to serve our clients.
Membership is our primary source of leadership, funding and volunteers. Currently, 52 area religious organizations are members of Churches United for the Homeless.
Churches United for the Homeless and the FM Coalition for the Homeless sponsor various events throughout the year that help provide awareness, support and finanical assistance for the hundreds of homeless men, women in children in our community. Attend an event to learn more about homelessness and offer your support to the vital programs that serve our communities less fortunate.
5. SPEAK OUT
Spread the word on the needs of our communities less fortunate and the need to end long-term homelessness in Fargo-Moorhead. Talk to your neighbors, call your political leaders, or write a letter to the editor. Help give a voice to those less fortunate!
For it is in giving that we receive.
